Thanatos (might be wrong on spelling here) was the Greek god of Death - as opposed to Hades who was the overlord of the underworld. Thanatos is little mentioned in the world of mythology but check him out... he's pretty cool.

He's also almost always pictured with his twin brother Hypnos - the God of Sleep...

aww... this is actually my little bro... he's kinda sweet lol.

The butterflys represtent the soul and the poppies are also symbolic of death.

Wonderful...

Ah, kind of creepy, very cool, nicely done.

I have never heard of those two characters from mythology, it's too bad school doesn't go more in depth with the lesser of the Gods, many of them are more interesting than some of the higher-ups in my opinion.

Keep up the good work.

You should start reading books by an author of the name "Piers Anthony" the "Incarnations" series. He loves mythology, humor and puns.

Your beautiful image just reminded me of all the great times Ive had with all of those books.....

Thanks.. much appriciated and I agree. I myself had not heard of these characters but check them out... Freud used thanatos in one of his many theories... over all.. I like it. all romantic.
